Crisis on Columex 20260904
Previously, on…
Looted some corpses, we have a lot to carry. And some new toys.
Nuked the lab, their backups (apart from a couple we’re carrying), and any means of producing more of the virus.
There were some fights with turrets, and a sneaky deathtrooper.
We haven’t taken any samples of the virus, but do have the vaccine, and the method to produce more, if not the means (hello hospital peeps).
Mouth got blown up pretty good. He’s walking wounded, but walking. Turns out he’s a clone trooper too. The surviving staff from the lab (Dr Guy and whatsherface), and the big droid are coming with.

Noticed pregame that Ed has managed to be the both luckiest and unluckiest character.
Credits Roll, Aaaand Action!
Got Mouth patched up and ready to move, fuelled by painkillers and stimulants.
Dust and smoke all in the air. Emergency lights are still on, but it’s pretty dark in here. The door is an absolute ruin.
Coerce the civilians into keeping Mouth upright for the trip to the hospital.
Ed checks for any remaining traps, and to see if there’s anyone waiting outside. Traps are clear, and there doesn’t seem to be anyone out there. The sun is going down though, so we’ll be travelling through dusk, potentially into the night.

The troopers conveniently left their ride outside though, amateurs! They were playing incognito, so unmarked civilian speeder, convertible, rather than anything military.
Nira sidles up to it to try and get it running. Gets the engine going, the repulsors fire up. It’s a bit sputtery, but functional.
Everyone begins to pile in, it will be a squeeze, but will fit. These troopers were fans of country music, from what comes blaring out of the speakers.

Ed spots a group of 4 walking towards us, recognises them as being part of Nero’s crew. He’s trying to hurry everyone along, to no effect.
They ask us what was in there, if we’re ok, and whether that explosion and cloud of smoke are anything to do with us. We play it off as taking out an Imperial facility, simply looting it for some blasters and gear, but that Mouth is badly injured.
They offer to take some of the guns off our hands. We haven’t got time for shenanigans, so only trade one of many new grenades for a repair patch trade instead.
They say the boss (Neero) is moving the attack up to tonight, so we need to hurry up and infiltrate it.
“You boys stay safe now, street lights are on” Ed says as they send em off.
Ed’s driving, the others are struggling to see in the dark. Luckily for us, the streets are pretty clear, and it’s an uneventful drive.
The Hospital

We call ahead to let them know we’re inbound with wounded. Aware that comms aren’t secure, we don’t say much else, and try and keep it subtle. No mention of a vaccine or anything else that we’ve been up to. Dump the car to fill that gap in the South-East corner of the barricade.
Safely negotiate around the traps protecting the entrance, remembering from last time.
Back through the testing room, everyone gets screened. The gaps in Mouth’s armour have let the germs in though, he’s got the lurgy.
Fortunately, Snowy and Illara got lucky, and despite the damage to their PPE, remain uninfected. If Illar’s clear, the reinforces that the vaccine works!
Dr Guy tests positive though, he’s off to quarantine. “If you want to test this vaccine on someone, that one volunteers”.
Dr Jackie, (shalom) starts asking how it’s going, then sees the state Mouth is in and gets him rushed to a bacta tank/med droid. “Get him in the dip!” calls Jackie, ordering some flunkies around to get him looked at.

Moving back to her office, Snowy explains our adventure, going into a lot of detail about the lab, utterly burying the lede on the fact that WE HAVE A VACCINE. Ed flashes his coat open, showing racks of vaccine vials. Jackie loses her absolute mind. Convey the details of how it works, testing done so far, etc.
Working backwards, Snowy has skipped right over our encounter with Neero on the way to the lab.
Explain the encounter with him and his goons, and their plan to use us to infiltrate the hospital, disable their defences, and attack.
Jackie is pissed that the attack is coming tonight. Neero’s been a patsy for the empire all along, and trying to limit the effectiveness of the hospital. Refers to him as a “Son of a Hutt”, which puzzles Ed, as he’d classified Neero as a Rodian. Decides to run a thorough diagnostic at the next opportunity, or chalk it up to “you all look the same to me”.
There’s a bit of a panic going on. The hospital has limited defenses, and (healthy) people to man them there’s no way to move this many people in time, especially as night approaches.
We’re going to try turning Neero’s plan back on him by having the turrets powered down, everything looking quiet, then luring them into a killbox.
Jackie’s got plans to form, and a lot of other work to do, but needs our help in defending the place. Ed did offer to help get the message out instead, but Routh’s out of the bacta, and will cover that from the hololink upstairs.
Preparation Options:
Might split the party a bit to cover more ground. Form a plan between sessions, and we can hit the ground running (or standing?) next time.

Healing troops = more minions to help us
Blinds=better defence for the people inside, and makes them harder to spot. Each holds two characters.
Better roll=better results for the upcoming fight.
Could probably just get around to doing all of the things, but it would be tight.
Blinds - 2P Survival
Heal - Medicine 2P / 3P / 4P
War Planning - Knowledge Warfare - 3P
Rally Troops - Leadership 2P 2SB
Traps - Mechanics / Skullduggery
Some Other Ideas
Knowledge underworld (maybe figure out how they’re likely to come at us?)
Try and get Kemmie’s arm stuck back on too
And we have all those guns, which might be better than what the people here have
Could drop stuff off the roof
Rig some speeders to blow
And there were those guys with the grapnels
Put out a broadcast, rally the other survivors?
Or make some noise, bring on the shamblers
Deebo for recon (he provided the aerial pics we have of the hospital)
- or get him out broadcasting to attract the undead and lead a herd
Deebo can fly!!
Do some cross wires to get across buildings
use deebo to see what’s happening
drive a crane and drop stuff on people
make tear gas.. and lob it with a trebuchet
build a trebuchet
send deebo out to make noise to attract zombies…
put trip wires across roads
remote activated grenades?
send ed out to gather zombies..
Have a think about what else could be around, don’t get sucked into sticking to what’s on the map.
