Monitor and the ipad are both on VESA arms, the ipad attached to what’s meant to be a laptop tray by the power of MAGNETS. My original version of this setup had a little more desk space, so the ipad was next to the monitor rather than underneath. Not gonna link to the arms here, kinda regret not spending a bit extra for the gas spring powered versions so I could in theory leave the ipad mounted but just pull it down/closer for drawing etc.
The monitor (very slowly) charges the ipad, like throughout a day of use it’ll be maybe 10% better off than when I started, but it also has the USB hub plugged into it. This in turn is connected to a camera charger/lead for importing photos, dongle for the mouse, numpad, audio interface, a couple more USB cables for charging the keyboard/controller/trackpad/other household gadgets and memory sticks or whatever else feels like getting plugged in.
The monitor’s also got a mac/PC plugged into it via HDMI and Displayport, and the keyboard easily switches between em via Bluetooth with a key combo as needed.
One day, I’ll get the money together for one of those LG Dualup monitors, and that’ll just slot into place where the current one is. Assuming I’ll reclaim some desk space from the wife by then, I might use the electriq one as a secondary for the mac/PC, but who knows?
