Apple Made More Money from AI Last Year Than the Actual AI Companies

According to The Wall Street Journal, via Macrumors, Apple made $900 Million from commission/App Store tax on generative AI apps in 2025.

Pinning down hard numbers from the AI companies isn’t easy, but they’re basically burning billions of dollars a year (literally). Open AI is not expecting to be profitable this decade, Anthropic maybe a bit sooner.
