Starting Out Green 20260206
Time for a recap with Zarlo!
Time’s moved on for Zarlo and his sister, they’re not kids any more. He’s got a purpose now.
Wants to pull her over to helping the alliance, and do a search for the parents. Gonna commandeer a shuttle from command for a couple days/etc and pack her off in it.
Going through the wringer a bit about how much he wants to know about how his parents are getting on.
She’s got no love for the Empire, but will let him know if/when they get settled somewhere safe. Then maybe throw some assistance in. Not at all confident the rebellion will succeed.
Palming her off as an “asset” to the alliance for now. They don’t know they’re related, and there are a number of ex-imperials in the ranks already.
She’s convinced that Zarlo has actually grown up. He admits it’s good to see her again though. Big breaths and sighs.
So she’s in the cells until the shuttle arrives to move her on. The rest of the prisoners are pretty glum, wondering what our plans are for them going forward. Zarlo puts a little (joking) dread into em while Buster’s on guard duty.
Command radio in, there’ll be a transport in within a day or so to “dispose” of the prisoners.
While this has been going on, KD’s been building a bit of a workshop into the ship. Mostly requisitioned parts from the base to cover all the basics, we will need to go shopping for anything more specialised though. Potential plans to section off part of the other cargo bay for some medical facilities.
Rimer paid a visit to the Darasted village, just a check in. They’re relieved that Iziz is out of Imperial hands. Village repairs and stuff are holding up, but they are in need of more building materials. They’ve got herbs and medical supplies to offer in trade. “Organic” stim packs?
Buzzsaw’s guys say they’re doing ok. Some run ins with Black Sun as they move in to fill the power vacuum. Could probably use some unofficial support from higher up. We may have a contact with Black Sun, potentially influence them to convince them they don’t want to bother with Iziz.
Deffo need some backup though.
Gav’s gonna pass all that up the chain.
Building a wall is not a great idea.
Potentially get the extra Alliance bods in then reach out to Black Sun when we’ve got a bit more weight on our side.
So What Lines Have We Got Open Now?
Tablets
-Trip to Iziz to go to the library
-also they're solid platinum, so raw materials
-Probably worth more to a collector though
- which is maybe what the Emperor wanted all along
Willie wanted to get on the comms about them and some other stuff, see what can be found out.
Find a use for the shards?
So We’re off to the City
Before we leave, the prisoners are taken away.
Zarlo’s fidgeting with his ring again as they’re loaded up.
Nasty hobbitses.
Land in one piece. Repairs are underway at the spaceport. None of the staff are in uniform this time around.
They do try to shake us down again. We attempt to convince them that due to our valuable contributions to the city they should let us off, it was not an overwhelming success.
Gamorreans walk out to back him up. 100cr to park. Zarlo forks over 150 but makes it clear that we haven’t been here. He just wants to make sure everyone gets fed.
The guards are 100% Black Sun. One has a mole on his left jowl, the other looks bored. They’re both packing pikes and blasters. We clock a few hoses laying around the place that would start venting pretty good if damaged. The company patching up the place seems local “Iziz WeFix It”. Otherwise kinda generic building supplies, nothing notable apart from the barrel on legs as a cement mixer substitute. Wurnco duracrete mixers/suppliers spotted.
The city’s in pretty decent shape as we make our way through. Some pickpockets around. No Imperial presence. A lot of construction around. We see a Black Sun person shake down the pickpocket, making them return their gains.
Some of Mr Saw’s crew around too. Bit of a stalemate, but the calm is tense. For now.
Get the impression Black Sun are definitely controlling the criminal elements, but we make it to the library without being accosted.
Lots of (paper) books, but also space books, data chips etc. The librarian points us at the local archaeology group/books.
A card falls out of the first book Rimer picks up, belonging to a professor at the local university. The actual book isn’t of much use though. Describes the Sith as an ancient religion, dark side of the force etc.
University professor - Vinson Nalle
Zarlo’s asking whether he did the right thing with “the prisoner”. Rimer’s trying to reassure him. Figures out/fesses up that it’s his sister that he’s talking about. The last Imperial they met got shot straight up, so that’s progress! Zarlo’s reminiscing. There’s been lots of shooting. Lots of stabbing. Up close n personal stylee. Heost his group a while ago, and almost got captured himself, so prefers keeping his distance now. This situation has brought it all back face to face.
Rimer’s reassuring him on the benefit and integral part he’s played with us. Zarlo’s got the pain and destruction going on. We only do this because we’re insane. If he’s ever harsh to us, it’s because he’s trying to fix what’s been broken. The nastier stuff comes out when he’s not asking that question.
Rimer makes the comparison to Buzzsaw’s crew, and the losses they’ve faced, and that we’re better than that.
Zarlo shares his dreams with ghosts. He’s glad we’re here though.
Stupid books turning us introspective!
We think of heading to the uni. But the dusk has closed in, so put that off for the next day, and hit the streets, see what info we can pick up. Maybe some bars etc.
Hubbub is that Black Sun are kinda owning the rebuilding. Taking kickbacks, sabotaging anyone not willing to pay.
Buzzsaw’s crew have taken over the old Imperial Garrison, maintaining a presence around the barracks and shield generator, but Black Sun are kinda owning most of the city. Word on the street is that it was actually them that caused the liberation. This will not stand.
Blag our way in to the bar for free based on the “everyone gets to keep their arms” discount. That and our help in liberating the city.
KD’s fully collar up, hat on.

In the bar, Black Sun are not keeping a low profile, blatant insignia on display. We don’t attract a lot of attention on our way in though, the boys head to the Sabacc tables.
Zarlo buys a round for the whole place. Is he trying to bankrupt us? Do some general ingratiating, chit chat etc. This does not go well, but we do win 200cr. We also pick up some names/info of business that have been rolled over since the fall. Or rise? Trying to pick up on where any sort of paper trail could be.
Local business owners are disgruntled, but the general populace seem happy enough. Buzzsaw’s guys are not great at the whole “hearts and minds” bit.
Some cross-referencing with the insider’s guide brings up a local cafe that’s born a bit of the brunt. Peg’s is still open and is our next stop.
Peg is very nice. She’s the 7th Peg to own this cafe. Been through the Separitist uprising, Clone Wars, and now this Empire. The latest developments are an improvement, but the current administration is expensive.
She’s being slightly evasive, but say everything’s very “well protected”. Everyone on this strip is feeling the pinch. Commercial district is getting it too. She’s glad the building is still standing at least. Not everyone has been so “lucky”. Rimer works his charms on her, and she confesses that the Black Sun are fully shaking them down. They’re taking a lot of the credit for the liberation too, but she knows it was the Rebellion.
There is a formal union/business owners organisation. But they’ll need more backup/actual protection to take a stand. Black Sun has been around for decades, so had fingers everywhere even before all this.
Mr Saw’s crew are mostly seen as another group of thugs. Not the face we necessarily want in town. Sticking to their area, rather than pushing out into the city proper.
Peg runs off a few names of businesses that have been burned down. They’d speak out if they weren’t so terrified.
Leaning heavily into needing more Alliance support.
Side bar on the palace. Was initially an actual Royal Family, but were puppets of the Empire.
We could get some recordings (recon drones, bugs) to show the BS being oppressive. Peg thinks the locals would need a lot of support to stand up, would need to sway the local sentiment.
Zarlo’s eating the spiciest food he can get.
Trying to convince Peg that we can help, we’d just need a little assistance in the way of recordings/intel.
Peg asks if it’s time to decant the 8th Peg.
Seemed receptive to the cause, and will see what can be done around recordings.
We’ve arranged to use the library as a dead drop location. Archeology section.
5XP each.
